AEROSPACE & DEFENCE
Gabriel Systems is a seed-stage British tech startup developing an ecosystem of unmanned aircraft for defence and civil applications.
One platform, many missions - strike, ISR, EW, relay, etc.
E-X is a Group 2 VTOL tailsitter built for mission versatility, lethality, and resilience in contested environments. It is a force-multiplier which collapses fragmented kill-chains into one high performance, easy to use, multi-role platform for large scale tactical deployment - equipping even non-specialist infantry units with full C4ISTAR & strike capabilities.
The tandem X-wing airframe efficiently combines the VTOL ability of a quadcopter with the range and payload capacity of a fixed-wing UAS.
Launch and land E-X anywhere from forest clearings and rooftops to urban ruins, boat decks and truck beds. No ramps, catapults, vehicles, or pneumatic tubes required. Recover and reuse the whole platform with low risk of damage to the airframe or sensitive components.
E-X has swappable sensor and payload modules on an airframe nimble enough to excel at missions out to 50km+, whether it’s flying with ISR suites, kinetic effectors, EW/decoy packages, cargo pods, or radio-agnostic relays/datalinks for resilient comms.
One operator can assemble an E-X in 2 minutes, place multiple E-X’s quickly in concealed areas, and remotely orchestrate synchronized role-distributed swarms - enabling complex standoff effects with fewer personnel, reduced operator exposure, and minimal training compared to FPV pilots.
With a battery, sensors, and warhead, E-X weighs under 13 kg and collapses into a compact hard case for safe transport and high packing density - or a soft shell backpack for increased mobility. E-X can also deliver itself from storage areas to deployment positions.
E-X can prosecute various point targets from infantry and soft vehicles to bunkers and MBTs:
E-X is built for high-rate production, deployment, and sustainment - with mass-produced COTS components free from ITAR restrictions. All sections are modular (incl. battery & datalink) to enable spiral upgrades and front-line repairs under supply chain pressure with minimal OEM intervention.
E-X can serve as a loitering munition with SWaP-C characteristics optimised for short-to-medium-range strike missions. Its speed, control authority, and steep dive angles allow it to engage dynamic targets even in high wind and sea states.
With a nose-mounted EO/IR gimballed sensor module, one E-X can conduct an entire kill-chain, removing the need for separate ISR platforms, multi-unit coordination, and complex logistical tails. E-X can also provide an organic armed overwatch capability to infantry - or land in unprepared areas as an anti-access/area-denial (A2/AD) solution, complicating an enemy's ability to maneuver and resupply without putting friendly forces at risk.
The speed and low observability of E-X make it more resilient than conventional ISR assets, ideal for strengthening fragile kill-chains in contested space where slow platforms optimised for endurance are increasingly vulnerable to cheap interceptors.
With separate sensor and payload sections, E-X can carry multiple ISR suites simultaneously - including RADAR for wide-area surveillance and optronic gimballed sensors - or an extra battery to double its range and endurance.
As a VTOL platform, E-X can also land to perform ISR roles from static locations, allowing overwatch for longer durations than airborne group 2 UAS.
In its ISR configurations, E-X is also a dual-use platform fit for SAR, border patrol, security, and monitoring missions.
Besides ISR and strike, E-X can support operations by delivering small cargo or performing EW, SIGINT, and signals relaying - either aerially or statically deployed. E-X can also simplify last-mile logistics by delivering itself autonomously.
